A long awaited bunch of babies were finally born in the middle of the week. The final x-ray before birth, showed 7 puppies. First one out was a big black male, and he made me call for assistance. After him, it was just one push and out they came. As number 4, came a dead pup who looked like it had sadly died about a week earlier. This little one had us fooled though - everything was calm, all placentas were out and Sansa was coming into her role as mum and we had the headcount at 7, just like the x-rays said.
But just to make sure, I still called the vet to get a scan.
Sadly we did not manage to get the last suprice out alive, but Sansa and the rest of the babies are doing fine. The little one`s are growing by the minute and Sansa, confused and in pain from the needed c-section, is just as good a mother like her own mum and grandmother. Now to enjoy these new lives, see them grow and get to know them!
Sansa is the very first Norwegian bred dobermann to claim the International JR Champion title, and her Danish JR Champion title. Her adult Norwegian Champion title, she claimed 2 months after her second birthday and her brother Capax Dei, is also the very first Norwegain bred dobermann to claim his Finnish JR Champion title, and their sister Taiga is also Norwegian Champion - the overall quality of the C litter is high and their mentality very good. This is a litter that simply just works - they are balanced and overall steady dogs and their MH testing clearly shows this.
Not only is Sansa a very correct buildt female - the best things about her is her work ethics and forementioned great mentality. Like her mother she aims to please, she has a great sence of humor, and plenty of preydrive. The few times she has done bitework, she also shows the hardness that lies beneath the surface.
I am very happy that I get to use a super male that will not only ensure the temperament I have and want in my dogs, but he will bring the expected genetic COI down to 35%.
Norman, as he is called - is a Swiss show CH and a medium sized, super strong and substantial buildt male. He is just starting out in his working career, having done his BH/VT and showing much promise in IGP, I am sure he and his owner will have much fun together!
As per usual, I am after the complete dobermann - temperament and health comes first, we need dogs that can function in society as active familydogs one can use for near any type of training. Should the puppies follow in their parents footsteps, they should certainly also be well suited for the showring.
I have very high hopes for this combination, as it brings into my breeding programe some of my absolute favourite dogs from across the world. Both black and brown puppies are excpected from this combination, and both parents are VWD clear - meaning that all of the puppies in this combination will be VWD clear as well.
Both parents are also DCM tested repeatedly. Norman is part of the ongoing DCM study in Munich, and here at home with me I have not only the grandmother (and her brother) of the upcoming litter but also the great-grandmother. All of them annually heart tested and DCM clear at time of testing. Whilst no guarantees can be given towards DCM and other illness, I can honestly say that I have tried to "stack the cards" in my favour.

Please note that there are no "picks and lasts" in our litters - we follow our puppies very carefully from birth and together with the Vollhard (PAT) test then choose what puppy goes to what home. Nobody can guarantee how a puppy will turn out, and so they are sold as pets first and foremost.
A dobermann require an active and dedicated owner who`s willing to put in the work needed and so I am very picky about where my puppies move. If I do not have the capasity to care for maybe 10 extra in my pack, then I do not breed - simple as that.
